Amanda grew up in Colorado and Chris in Indiana. We’d both spent time in Colorado before moving to New York, where we were very happy to find each other. Since then we’ve shared four or five apartments, a pandemic, and some long-distance years with Chris in Atlanta and Santa Monica and Amanda in Boca Raton. Wherever we’ve lived, the best part has been doing it together.
These days we split our time between New York, home for seventeen years, and LA, where lots of our favorite people live. We love both, and we’re always happy to sneak away for a quiet weekend too.
Chris does most of the cooking. Amanda does the cleaning. We think it’s a pretty good arrangement. There are also plenty of late nights in the kitchen, with Chris bringing the enthusiasm and Amanda bringing her signature hitch step.
We often book our flights separately and meet up wherever we’re going. Somehow we always find each other! We’ve had so many great trips together, and we’re very happy this one includes all of you.
Dogs have been part of our life together from the start. We babysat Bandit, who peed everywhere and could usually be won over with cheese. Our sweet Pomeranian Eva went everywhere with us, and we miss her so much. Mona now keeps us busy chewing Chris’s things and following Amanda around. She’s also our flower girl!
Amanda surprised Chris at Christmas after our trip to Egypt. She proposed! Chris had always hoped we’d get married, and he was pretty thrilled. He also loves being the one who gets to wear the engagement ring.
This wedding took us a while, and we’re so happy we got to celebrate with the friends and family who’ve been part of these fifteen years. We love you all. Thanks for being here!
